Duration: 8 days and 7 nights

Distance: 450 km.

Description: Crossing the Andes from the Pacific ocean to lake Nahuel Huapi. Riding through indigenous forests, patagonian lakes and mountains, climbing up the Osorno volcano with our bikes.

Places: Bariloche and surrounding areas. Puerto Montt (Chile). Lake Llanquihue. Volcano Osorno. Hot springs. Puyehue Pass (1350m). Argentina: Villa la Angostura. Arrayan forest (Quetrihue Peninsula)..

Difficulty: biking days last approx.. 4 hr. and are split in two legs, morning and afternoon. Normal speed is approx.. 17km/h. Those who might feel tired can use the support vehicle.

Group size: minimum 8 people. Registration should be confirmed two months in advance otherwise a 15% will be added to the price.

Program and itinerary:

Day 1: Bariloche:
We meet in Bariloche we go for a short ride in the nearby city area, welcome dinner.
Daily biking ride: 25 km
Lodging: hostel


Day 2: Bariloche - Circuit Chico
Tour around Lakes Nahuel Huapi, Escondido and Moreno. Also we ride through Colonia Suiza and take alternative roads and paths .
Daily biking ride: 65 km
Lodging: hostel


Day 3: Andes crossing to Chile - Puerto Montt.
We travel to Puerto Montt by bus and bike along Lake Llanquihue (paved road ) to Ensenada.
Daily biking ride: 75 km biking (paved road, sloped)
Lodging: at cabin in Ensenada.

Day 4 - Ascent to Osorno Volcano:
We ride 14 km upwards to the La Burbuja mountain hut. Then we descend "downhill". Afternoon leisure time. (Rafting optional activity)
Daily biking ride: 30 km (15 km uphill).
Lodging: at cabin in Ensenada


Day 5 - Puyehue lake:
We ride along the Rupanco and Puyehue lake shore to Aguas Calientes resort. In the afternoon , visiting the "aguas calientes" hot springs is optional.
Daily biking ride: 85 km (half on gravel road). Smooth ride.
Lodging: at cabin.


Day 6 - Villa La Angostura - Crossing the Andes
After 55 km we reach Cardenal Samore Puyehue Pass ( at 1350m). We ride past lakes Espejo and Correntoso.
Daily biking ride: 95 km, on paved road.
Lodging: at cabin.


Day 7 - Bariloche:
In the morning we can visit the Arrayanes national park . 24 km through paths to Peninsula Quetrihue. In the afternoon we ride along the Nahuel Huapi lake shore to Bariloche. At night farewell asado (barbecue)
Daily biking ride: on trails 24 km (optional) and 90 km on paved road.
Lodging: hostel.


Included services: Experienced guides assistance. Support vehicle . Mechanical assistance and spare bike. All meals included . Bus fare to Puerto Montt. Lodging in hostel (3 nights) at cabins (4 nights)

Tent only if you want a single tent
Head lamp or flash light with spare batteries
Sunglasses ,

Sunblock lotion and lipbalm ,
No need for saddlebags unless you want to carry your own camera.

Recommended clothing : Bike pants short & long, Running pants, Windbreaker, synthetic long sleeve shirt, T-shirts, Polar fleece jacket, Gloves, Socks synthetic & wool, Rain poncho (optional) , Sandals or spare tennis shoes.
